I didn't admire McCain, he would have been another compassionate conservative and bloated government and spent like a Dem. However, he was the best? chance of defeating Obama. We have a great opportunity in 2010, but we can't miss the mark by allowing more of the same that caused the Dems to come into power in 2006 back in Congress. Mark Kirk will do more to harm Republican principles and the platform for decades to come then if the Democrat were to win. This route will destroy the party.

Doesn't make sense -it is the proverbial biting off your nose to spite your face. Voting for the democrat who is far far more liberal -fill in the blanks with either Hamos, Seals, etc who will totally be in Shakowsky's back? pocket is self defeating . Shakowsky is worst thing to hit 9th and voting in another democrat only solidifies her base further. You will never find a candidate who agrees with everything in platform. From you log in name, I assume, like me, you admire McCain-he endorsed Kirk.

Kirk lost his fiscal conservative stance with his vote on cap and trade. He was either bought off or blackmailed. Either way, he's fully tainted. Not to mention his liberal social stands. He does not represent the Republican Platform in any way. If Kirk wins? the primary, I will do something I have never done. I will vote for the Democrat candidate to help ensure Kirk doens't get in the Senate.

How can I best explain this. Mark Kirk represents all that was wrong with the last Republican Congress. They stood for nothing and got booted out. We have a great opportunity come 2010 to take back Congress. But we can ill afford to take it back with RINO's like Mark Kirk. He would do more to harm Republican standards and values than if a Democrat takes the spot. We need quality candidates of? backbone, integrity and character, that is NOT Kirk. No more compromises!

I don't understand why the Republican paryt constantly has to fight themselves. Wake up! Mark Kirk is? against the health care bill. Yes, he was wrong about cap and trade-completely wrong but so are all the conservatives going to vote for the democrat?!!!-that makes no sense. The other repub contenders do not stand a chance to get elected-we cannot afford to throw away another republican-to me at least that is nuts. ps. at least he held town hall meetings unlike some legislators.

I agree Mark Kirk is far too liberal for me. I also believe that without him, we haven't got a snowball's chance in hell of taking Roland Burris's Senate seat in 2010. He's better then the Democrat, so I'd vote for him. We just can't win? in all the states with the same message.

You are absolutely right in coming out against Mark Kirk so hard. We just got rid of Arlen? Specter, we don't need another one.
